Troubleshooting common issues

Step-by-step fixes for the most common problems in DayByDay, from Apple Health sync to CSV imports.

Quick fixes

Most issues in DayByDay can be resolved by one of these three things: checking your permissions, restarting the app, or pulling to refresh. If a specific problem has you stuck, find it in the list below.

Apple Health data isn't syncing

If weight, steps, or sleep from Apple Health aren't showing up in DayByDay, the most common cause is a missing permission.

  1. 1On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
  2. 2Go to Privacy & Security β†’ Health.
  3. 3Tap DayByDay in the list.
  4. 4Make sure every toggle you want synced is turned ON.
  5. 5Open DayByDay and wait 30 seconds for the sync to run.
  6. 6If data still hasn't appeared, tap Sync now in Settings β†’ Health sync.
  7. 7If it's still missing, try restarting the DayByDay app.
  8. 8As a last resort, revoke all DayByDay permissions in Health settings and re-grant them. This forces a fresh sync.

Apple Health only pulls the last 90 days

DayByDay reads the most recent 90 days from Apple Health automatically. For older data, use the CSV import at web.mydaybyday.app.

My weight trend line isn't showing

The trend line needs a few data points before it can calculate anything meaningful.

  1. 1Make sure you have at least 3 weigh-ins logged in total.
  2. 2Check that those entries span at least 3 different calendar days β€” multiple entries on the same day count as one.
  3. 3On the Weight tab, check the date range selector. If the range is set to a very short window (like 7 days), your entries might be outside it.
  4. 4Try switching to the All time or 3 month view to see your full history.

My GLP-1 medication level looks wrong

The medication level is an estimate based on the drug's half-life. A few things can make it look off.

  1. 1Open the GLP-1 tab and check your most recent dose log.
  2. 2Confirm the correct medication is selected β€” different drugs have different half-lives.
  3. 3Confirm the dose date is right. One day off can shift the estimate noticeably.
  4. 4Check that the dose amount is correct.
  5. 5If no dose has been logged in 28 days, the level resets to zero. Log your missed doses to bring the estimate back.
  6. 6Remember: this is a pharmacokinetic estimate, not a blood measurement. It will not match a lab result exactly.

This is an estimate, not a blood test

The GLP-1 medication level is calculated from the drug's typical half-life. Individual metabolism, body weight, and kidney function all affect actual drug levels. Always follow your prescriber's dosing schedule regardless of what the app shows.

The app says I'm offline

DayByDay works offline β€” you can still log data when there's no internet connection. But if you're seeing an offline banner when you expect to be connected, try these steps.

  1. 1Check that your phone has an active internet connection β€” open a webpage to confirm.
  2. 2Try switching between WiFi and mobile data.
  3. 3Pull down on any screen to trigger a manual refresh.
  4. 4Restart DayByDay.
  5. 5If you logged data while offline, it will sync automatically as soon as a connection is detected. You don't need to do anything.

Sleep data isn't appearing

Sleep data can come from Apple Health (Apple Watch or other compatible devices) or from an O2 Ring. The fix depends on your source.

  1. 1Open the Apple Health app and check that sleep data exists there for the night you're looking for.
  2. 2In DayByDay, go to Settings β†’ Health sync and confirm sleep sync is turned on.
  3. 3If you use an O2 Ring: open the Wellue app, export your overnight data, and then open DayByDay to import it. The data won't appear until you export from Wellue first.
  4. 4Check the date filter on the Sleep tab β€” make sure you're looking at the correct night.
  5. 5Try tapping Sync now in Health settings to force a fresh pull.

I can't log in

  1. 1Try the Forgot password link on the login screen. Enter your email and check your inbox for a reset link.
  2. 2Make sure you're using the same email you signed up with. Try other email addresses if you're not sure.
  3. 3If you signed up with Google or Apple, tap the Continue with Google or Continue with Apple button instead of entering a password β€” those accounts don't have a DayByDay password.
  4. 4Check that your email address doesn't have a typo.
  5. 5If you're still locked out, email support@mydaybyday.app with your account email and we'll sort it out.

My CSV import failed

CSV imports are available at web.mydaybyday.app. Here are the most common reasons a file fails to import.

  1. 1Check that the first row of your file is a header row (column names, not data).
  2. 2Check the date format β€” use YYYY-MM-DD (for example, 2025-03-15). Other formats may not be recognized.
  3. 3Make sure weight values use a decimal point, not a comma. Use 185.5 not 185,5.
  4. 4The file must be a .csv file, not .xlsx (Excel). Open it in Excel and use File β†’ Save As β†’ CSV if needed.
  5. 5Check the file size β€” maximum is 10 MB. If your file is larger, split it into smaller chunks.
  6. 6If your file still fails, email it to support@mydaybyday.app and we'll help you format it.

Charts aren't loading

  1. 1On iPhone: close DayByDay completely and reopen it.
  2. 2On web: refresh the page (Cmd+R on Mac, F5 on Windows).
  3. 3Check your internet connection.
  4. 4Try logging out and back in.
  5. 5On web only: clear your browser cache (Settings β†’ Clear browsing data in Chrome, or equivalent in your browser).
  6. 6If charts still won't load, email support@mydaybyday.app with a screenshot of the error.

I'm missing data after syncing

  1. 1Wait up to 60 seconds β€” large syncs take a moment to complete.
  2. 2Pull down on the screen to refresh.
  3. 3Open Apple Health and confirm the data you're expecting actually exists there. DayByDay can only sync data that Apple Health has.
  4. 4Check the date β€” DayByDay automatically pulls the last 90 days from Apple Health. Data older than 90 days won't appear unless you use CSV import.
  5. 5If you logged the data manually in Apple Health (not via a connected device), try tapping Sync now in Settings β†’ Health sync.

The app is slow or unresponsive

  1. 1Close DayByDay completely and reopen it.
  2. 2Check how much storage is available on your device. Apps can slow down when storage is nearly full.
  3. 3Check for an update in the App Store β€” updates often include performance fixes.
  4. 4Restart your iPhone.
  5. 5If the problem continues, email support@mydaybyday.app with your device model and iOS version.
